1721-03-14 1722-03-16 PRO - Peter De Varennes, Bookseller of Saint Mary le Strand, Middlesex. --- Treadwell Notes - Codicil = 26 Apr 1721- To dear wife - all the income of his £50 pa annuity taken out of the Exchequer in 1707 (upon lowavines, hawkers etc) by Mrs Gertrude Whitcombe, No.2163, and assigned to me by John Savory Esq. In June 1710 - this for her life, after which it goes to his chidren first deducting 15% ad valorum to be divided among 3 charity houses vix; La Soupe in Soho, the other of the same kind in Spittlefields, and the 3rd called the House of Providence near the old Pest House the three being for the relief of poor French protestants. Codicil - if I have manservant at my death (besides my cousin Cailloue) he gets £5. Execs are to pay his sons' debts from their shares. Witnesses of will: Andrew Parnell, Peter Vanderbrodle.
