SMITH (ANTHONY), stationer in London, is mentioned in an edition of the Psalter or boke of the Psalmes printed for him in 1548 by Roger Car { CAR, Roger ‹ LBT 28370 › }. [B.M.] He received along with three other stationers forty shillings under the will of Robert Toy { TOY, Robert ( - 1556) ‹ LBT 08604 › }, proved March, 1556, as payment for making a valuation of his stock. His name occurs in the first list of the Stationers' Company. He lived in the Parish of St. Faith's London and his will dated 1560 was proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury. [39, Mellershe.]
