RICHARDSON (RICHARD), stationer in London, was an original member of the Company of Stationers and from his position on the charter would appear to have become a freeman about 1540. In 1545 he was mentioned in the will of Edward Ylle { YLLE, Edward ( - 1545) ‹ LBT 28259 › } and received a legacy of six shillings and eight pence. [Plomer, Wills, p.8.] He was evidently an important stationer, giving liberal subscriptions to the Company's collections and presenting no less than four apprentices in October, 1556. By 1558-9 he was dead, for in that year two of his apprentices were set over to James Gonnell { GONNELD, James ( - 1594) ‹ LBT 07519 › } his executor. [Arber, I, 98.]
