MARSHE (THOMAS), printer in London, began to work in 1554 at the sign of the Prince's Arms in Fleet Street or, as it was also called, the King's Arms. He was an original member of the new Stationers' Company, was taken into the Livery in 1562 and was a Warden in 1575 and 1581. He printed continuously up till 1587, issuing a very large number of books. He had also a privilege to print grammars. He used as devices a monogram and also more rarely a figure of Fortune.
