1788-05-05 1789-12-23 PRO - Bookbinder of Saint Mary Lambeth, Surrey. --- Copy mlt - wants all his tools to be auctioned for the benefit of his family, preferably by Messrs Egertons, Bookseller, Charing Cross. Wife Elizabeth Marks, after her decease two daughters by the same wife, Eliza and Sophia Marks. Two houses he now inhabits in Cold Harbour. Also leaves them the receipt for making the Black Amsterdam Ink. Previous wife mentioned - his son by her James Marks not left anything having "formerly had more than his share of my property and having behaved in a most undutiful manner and likewise being at this time more capable of providing for himself."
