Further Notes
Upper Wardenship - The wording of the Court Book entry of 14 Jun 1645 concerning Man ("if he pay his fyne up[per] warden") seems to imply that the fine had already been sought and approved. It so it was presumably for Man's second year as Upper Warden and sought at the end of his first year, in Jul 1644. In any case the matter must have been resolved by 4 Jul 1646 when Man was elected to the Mastership. --- Suspension from the Court - On 2 Sep 1644 Man was suspended from the Court for buying and selling counterfeit Bibles etc. while Warden and English Stock partner, but was restored two months later on payment of a £4 fine. ---
