LOYE (JOHN), stationer in London, is mentioned in the Subsidy Roll of 1547 as living in St. Paul's Churchyard with Th. Purflytte [Purfoot] { PURFOOT, Thomas (1518 - ) ‹ LBT 08282 › } and having goods valued at ten pounds. [R. of A., I, 134.] In 1549 he is returned as living in St. Paul's Churchyard with Andrew Hester { HESTER, Andrew ( - 1557) ‹ LBT 07705 › }. [R. of A., I, 159.]
MLT Note: Duff, E.G. (1905) - suggests the Hans Low (LBT/28275) may be identical with John Loye. ---
