DUFF, E.G. (1905), p.94

LONGE (JOHN), stationer in London, was made a brother of the Stationers' Company before their incorporation in 1557. His name is found among other brethren who subscribed towards Bridewell in 1556 as giving twelve pence. [Arber, I, 48.] Being a brother he was no doubt a foreigner and may be identical with the person entered in the Lists of Denizations "John Longe, born in the Isle of Bille. In England 32 years. Married to an English woman and has by her 4 children. 1 July, 1544." [West. Deniz. Roll, 36 Hen. VIII.]
MLT Note: Duff, E.G. (1905) -brother of the Stationers' Company by 1556 - 'no doubt a foreigner and may be identical with the person entered in the Lists of Denizations "John Longe, born in the Isle of Bille.
