CORNE (HUGH), bookseller in London, 1578-80. The son of John Corne of Ruton, co. Shropshire. Apprentice to Thomas Chapman { CHAPMAN, Thomas ‹ LBT 08599 › }, stationer of London, for eight years from Christmas, 1568 [Arber, i. 375]. Made free of the Company January 20th, 1578 [Arber, ii. 675]. First book Entry May 31st, 1580 [Arber, ii. 371]. His address has not been found. He died before April 8th, 1583 [i.e. 2 Feb 1583], when his apprentice, Henry Heath { HEATH, Henry ‹ LBT 07242 › }, was transferred to Timothy Rider { RYDER, Timothy ‹ LBT 07997 › } [Arber, ii. 116].
