NORTON (FELIX), bookseller in London, 1600-3; The Parrot in St. Paul's Churchyard. Son of Mark Norton citizen and grocer of London, who married one of the daughters of J. Cawood { CAWOOD, John ( - 1570) ‹ LBT 07117 › }. Apprentice to George Bishop { BISHOP, George ( - 1610) ‹ LBT 08608 › - who also married one of Cawood's daughters} for nine years from June 24th, 1591, and took up his freedom on July 7th, 1600 [Arber, ii. 174,727]. He succeeded John Oxenbridge { RAYNOLDES, Richard ‹ LBT 06937 › } at the Parrot in St. Paul's Churchyard, this stationer's books being transferred to him on September 1st, 1600 [Arber, iii. 171]. He died in 1603, and was succeeded at the same address by W. Aspley { ASPLEY, William (1573 - 1640) ‹ LBT 06927 › }.
