Further Notes

McKenzie, D. F. (1974) - attributes the apprentice John Jones (LBT/14041) to Thomas Newcomb snr., but as he died in 1691, it must have been the son's apprentice and there Dorothy who freed him. --- O.D.N.B. - "--- but in February 1694, she was declared of unsound mind and her person and properyty as assigned to John Williams, who had succeeded her husband as manager of the King's Printing House. Within four months, however, she had recovered and remarried; her annual income from property and ptinting interests was estimated at this date to be £439. Her new husband died in August 1695. In July 1708, she was once again declared a 'lunatique' and did not recover before her death in February 1718; Williams was again made responsible for her person and property during these last ten years of her life." ---
