MLT Note: Robert Kirkman, Antiquarian Bookseller, Eggington, Bedfordshire [24 Feb 2003] - I am certain of my lineage from Abraham Kirkman of Blackwell Hall --- According to some family papers now in America, from 1809 until his death Abraham carried on the business of a law stationer at 48 Cornhill, London. In December 1799, when 30 years old, he articled himself to John Thomas, solicitor of Fen Court, Fenchurch Street, and was admitted an Attorney of the Court of Queens Bench on 1st May Easter Term 1805, a solicitor of the High Court of Chancery 8 May 1806 and an Attorney of the Court of Common Pleas 15 Nov 1808 and retired from practice in the year 1823 when he was 54. He married 4 Jun 1791 Martha Blaksley only daughter of John and Sarah Blaksley of Bishopsgate Street, London and had 6 children." ---
