KING (JOHN), printer in London, was an original member of the Company of Stationers on its incorporation. In 1556 he was settled in Paul's Churchyard, and we learn from the will of R. Toy { TOY, Robert ( - 1556) ‹ LBT 08604 › } that his shop was next door to, and under the same roof as J. Cawood's { CAWOOD, John (1514 - 1572) ‹ LBT 07101 › }. He printed from 1555 to 1561 and apparently died in the latter year. One undated book, Certaine bokes compyled by mayster Skelton, was printed by John Kynge and Thomas Marshe { MARSH, Thomas ( - 1589) ‹ LBT 08053 › } in Creede Lane.
