JUDSON (JOHN), printer in London, was a senior member of the Stationers' Company on its incorporation, being fifteenth on the list. He was a Warden of the Company in 1560-61, 1562-3 and 1570-71 and Master in 1587-88. He is frequently mentioned in the Registers as taking apprentices and entering copies. He died in 1589 and his will dated 4th May, 1588, was proved on March 18th following. [Plomer, Wills, p. 28.] He left a widow Alice { JUDSON, Alice ‹ LBT 03171 › } and two sons Richard and Thomas { JUDSON, Thomas ‹ LBT 07893 › }, the latter having been made free of the Stationers by patrimony in January, 1581.
