Further Notes

C.B. 2 Apr 1816 - A Letter from Mr.Joshua Jenour (who had many years been a Liveryman) to the Court of Assistants - stating that he had experienced severe reverses of fortune, but that he had hopes of reestablishing himself with some assistance - and that his Father and Uncle had been Memb ers of the Court of Assistants - was read - Mr.Jenour was called into Court and stated that it was his intention, with the assistance of his Son, to open an Academy for a limited number of Pupils, and that any pecuniary assistance would b e very acceptable to him - Mr.Jenour - having withdrawn it was Resolved - That in conisderation of the length of time MR.Jenour and his Family had been Members of this Company and the situations they held in it - and from the peculiar circumstances under which he had lost his Property, that this Court do present him with £20 ffffand that he be told that he was not to expect any similar Donation in future. ---
