DUFF, E.G. (1905), p.76
HOLYLAND (JOHN), stationer in London, is mentioned in the Archives of the City of London. He apparently lived in St. Paul's Churchyard and at one time had a quarrel with Reginald Wolfe { WOLF, Reginolde ( - 1574) ‹ LBT 08802 › } which was settled by the arbitration of Thomas Petit { PETYT, Thomas ‹ LBT 00136 › } and Robert Toye { TOY, Robert ( - 1556) ‹ LBT 08604 › }. [Bib. Soc. Trans., VI, p. 24.] He was doubtless some relative of James Holyland { HOLYLAND, James ‹ LBT 07770 › }, an original member of the Stationers' Company.
