1 Mar 1766 = C.B. - Elected Treasurer of the English Stock --- named his Securities Thomas Devon and Robert Lovelace Bankers at Temple Barr, London. Had to resign from the Court. --- 2 Feb 1773 = C.B. - And the Court taking into their Consideration that Mr.George Hawlkins has been near seven years Treasurer to the English Stock of this company & if he had not accepted that Office would have been entitled to the Assistants Share now vacant by the Death of Mrs.Knaplock do on that Account & as an Acknowledgement of his Diligence & Fidelity in the Trust reposed in him unanimously resolve & order that an Annual Payment or Sum of £20 from the said Stock be made to him by equal half Yearly Payments on the same Days upon which the Dividends shall be made to the Patners in Respect of their Shares but the same is hereby declared to be altogether Personal to Mr.Hawkins as a Reward for his peculiar Merit & not to be annexed to the Office or claimed by his Successors but shall cease at his Death. ---
