Duff, E.G. (1905), p.50
FYLDE (DAVID), bookbinder in London, lived in St. Anne's Parish, Aldersgate Ward, and is entered in the Subsidy Roll of 1541. [R. of A., I, 49.] As he had no goods, and simply paid the poll tax of fourpence, he was probably an assistant to someone else and not in business on his own account. He is mentioned in St. Botolph's Parish, Aldersgate, about 1544 when his goods were valued at twenty shillings and in St. Giles' Cripplegate in 1549 when his goods were worth forty shillings.
