DUFF, E.G. (1905), p.47

FOSTER (RICHARD), stationer in London, is mentioned in the colophon of Bale's Dialogue or communycacyon to be had at a table betwene two chyldren "printed at Lond : for Rich: Foster. an. MDXLIX." [Herbert, III, p. 1834.] He was presumably a member of the Stationers' Company, for we find in their Register [Arber, I, p. 186] "Recevyd of John Foster for his Admyttinge to be freman of this Companye by his faythers Copye the xxj Daye of octobre Anno 1561. iijs iiijd." The father must therefore have been a freeman of the Company before 1537.
