FAWKES (MICHAEL), printer in London, was probably a relative of Richard { FAQUES, Richard ( - 1538) ‹ LBT 28384 › } and William Faques { FAQUES, William ( - 1508) ‹ LBT 28385 › }. His name is only found twice, once in the colophon to A deuout treatyse called the tree and twelve frutes of the holy goost. The first part was printed by Robert Copland { COPLAND, Robert ( - 1548) ‹ LBT 28247 › } alone in 1534, the second part finished in October, 1535, was printed by Copland with Myghel Fawkes. [Herbert, I, 348, 538.] The other book he printed was the Consolatori of timorouse and fearfull consciencys by William Bonde [B. M.] a quarto without date.
