ODNB - article by Lucy Peltz
MLT Note: O.D.N.B. (2004) - Edward Evans (1789-1835) - 'Almost nothing is known of Evans's early life except that he trained as a compositor at the printers Nicholas & Son in Red Lion Passage, Fleet Street. His 'Gentleman's Magazine' obituary records that the firm of Nichols & Son quickily elevated him to the more senior position of reader on account of his efficiency and speed' - It has therefore been assumed that the O.D.N.B. subject is to be identified with this apprentice. ---
