1799. Died, Samuel Bladon, a bookseller, who resided in Paternoster-row, and from his integrity and skill as an accountant, was frequently an arbitrator in complicated accounts.

BLADON (SAMUEL),bookseller and publisher in London, Paper Mill in Paternoster Row, 1733-09. In 1753 he joined with A. Millar in the publication of Bishop Burnet's History. Publisher of the Works of Dr. James Houston, and of political tracts such as The Conduct of the Ministry impartially examined, in a Letter to the Merchants of London, which bears as imprint: London: Printed for S. Bladon, in Pater-noster-Row, MDCCLVI. Price one shilling. [B.M.1093.e.53.] In 1773 he issued Considerations on the State of the Sugar Islands, and on the Policy of Enabling Foreigners to Lend Money on Real Securities in those Colonies. [J. C. B. L.] In 1775 with several others he published The Fables of Mr. Gay. Timperley [p. 804 { – actually 801}] states that Bladon was a skilled accountant and was frequently an arbitrator in complicated accounts. Died July, 1799. [Nichols, III. 718.]
