Treadwell Notes

Duff, E.G. (1905), pp.80-1

JAQUES (JOHN), stationer in London, was one of the oldest members at the time of the incorporation of the Company, being thirteenth on the list. He is entered in the Registers as subscribing freely and giving several gifts to the Company and served as one of the Wardens in 1558-9. His name is not found after 1560. It is just possible that he may be identical with the person mentioned in the Denization Rolls "John Jaques born in the dominion of the Emperor. In England six years, 1 July, 1544." [Westm. Deniz. Roll, 36 Hen. VIII.]
