HUKE or HUCKE (GILES), stationer in London, was an original member of the Stationers' Company in 1557. He is mentioned in the Registers as taking an apprentice in 1565 but he appears to have fallen into poverty and became porter to the Company. The last entry relating to him occurs in 1580-81. "Item paide to Giles Huke the porter towarde the buriall of his wife { HUKE, (Unknown) ‹ LBT 06394 › }, v.s." [Arber, I, 490.]
