MLT Note: Sister of John Playford (LBT/12699) - O.D.N.B. - Eleanor seems for a time to have managed the printing shop herself, but as she was not a stationer's widow she was not allowed to continue and adversied the printing shop for sale in the "London Gazette" for 3-6 May 1686. Unable to find a buyer for its specialized equipment, Eleanor unsccessfully petitioned the king for permission to run the shop herself; … ---
