CASE (JOHN), printer in London, lived in St. Peter's College rentes in St. Paul's Churchyard, at the sign of the "Baule." He printed about 1550 an edition of T. Sternhold's Certayn chapters of the proverbes of Salomon drawen into metre, for W. Seres { SERES, William ( - 1580) ‹ LBT 08396 › }. [B.M.] About the same time Nicholas Hyll { HILL, Nicholas ‹ LBT 28420 › } printed for him The Pleasaunt, Playne and pythie Pathewaye, by V. L. In 1551 R. Crowley { CROWLEY, Robert rev. (1517 - 1588) ‹ LBT 07271 › } printed for him Poore Shakerley his knowledge of good and evil, and Herbert [II, 763], on the authority of Maunsell, quotes two other books. He was an original member of the Stationers' Company.
