SHERES (JAMES), bookbinder in London, came to England about 1535. He took out letters of denization October 29th, 1550. [Pat. 4 Edw. VI, p. 4, m. 5.] He is entered in the two Returns of Aliens of 1571 as "bokebynder, borne in Andwerpe, denizon, in this realme 38 yeares and in the saide warde 22-yeares" and" bookebynder, borne in Anwarpe, came into this realme to his brother about xxxv yeares past, and is a denizen." [R. of A., I, 411 ; II, 12.] He lived in Paul's Churchyard, St. Faith's Parish.
