GAULTIER, GALTIER or GUALTIER (THOMAS), printer in London, was a native of France. He took out letters of denization in 1544. "Thomas Galtyer, born in France. Has been long in England and married to an English woman. 1 July, 1544." [West. Deniz. Roll, 36 Hen. VIII.] He printed only between 1550 and 1553 and was appointed King's Printer for French service books. His printing office was in the Parish of St. Martin's, Ludgate, near Fleet bridge.
