Introduction

Henry Disle was a draper and bookseller active in London during the 1570s, primarily based at St. Paul's Churchyard at the South West Door of St. Paul's Church. He was apprenticed to William Jones for thirteen years from Midsummer 1563 and became a member of the Stationers' Company. Disle is noted as the publisher of The Paradise of Dainty Devices, a collection of verse, with his last recorded book entry dated January 26, 1579/80.
