Introduction
Roger Symons was a bookbinder and member of the Stationers' Company in London. He was bound as an apprentice to Richard Hannys in September 1594 and freed from his servitude in January 1602. Symons subsequently took on at least twelve apprentices in the binding trade between 1602 and 1617, establishing himself as an established master craftsman in the London book trade.
