Introduction

Richard Garnett was a bookbinder and member of the Stationers' Company in London. He was freed by patrimony in 1592, following his father Richard Garnett. Garnett was an active master craftsman who took on at least four apprentices in binding between 1594 and 1622, demonstrating a sustained professional practice in the London book trade.
