Introduction
Edward Napper was a bookbinder and member of the Stationers' Company in London. Bound as an apprentice to Christopher Dawson in 1600, he was freed from servitude in 1613 and subsequently took on five apprentices in the binding trade between 1617 and 1642. He had a son, Edward Napper, who gained freedom through patrimony in 1664.
