Introduction
Rowlande Gynkes was a member of the Stationers' Company in London during the mid-sixteenth century. He was bound as an apprentice to Nicholas Cleston on 24 June 1562, establishing his entry into the book trade. Little else is recorded of his career in the surviving historical documentation.
