Introduction
Thomas Sare was a bookbinder and member of the Stationers' Company in London. He was bound as an apprentice to Christopher Butler on 24 June 1581 and achieved his freedom through servitude on 20 March 1589. Sare trained at least two apprentices in the binding trade, taking on Richard Watson in 1589 and Roger Evans in 1604, with Evans achieving his freedom in 1611.
