WALLEY, Henry ( - 1660) ‹LBT11041›		Court	Attended - first - as Clerk of the Company since March 1631 he would certainly have been passed over for election had he not argued that he deserved the same treatment as one of his predecessors as Clerk, namely to be an Assistant and have all the advantages of an Assistant, except the right to sit at the Table. On that condition he was elected, but accordingly did not take his seat until after he had resigned the Clerkshop on 3 May 1652. In the interim he was obliged to fine for those offices in which he could not serve.
