Introduction
Robert Hudson was a member of the Stationers' Company in London during the early seventeenth century. He was bound as an apprentice to Bartholomew Fowler on 4 June 1605 and gained his freedom through servitude on 7 July 1612. Hudson subsequently took on his own apprentice, Jeames Muckold, in 1615, indicating he had established himself as a master craftsman in the book trade.
