Introduction
Galterus Derry (also known as Gautier or Dare) was a printer of French origin active in London during the 1560s. A native of Rouen, he was made a Brother of the Stationers' Company on 15 January 1560 and is documented as working in the Blackfriars area of London between 1560 and 1562. He is described in contemporary records as a "typographus" (printer).

A Gualterus Derry, probably identical with this alien printer, was made Brother of the Stationers' Company on January 15th, 1559/60 [Arber, i. 126]. He was a native of Rouen, and is described in Kirk's Returns of Aliens as "typographus" [Worman, Alien Members, p. 14].
