Introduction
William Croke was a stationer and member of the Stationers' Company in London. He was bound as an apprentice to Adam Croke on 18 June 1556 and gained his freedom by servitude on 22 January 1563. Croke took on his own apprentice, John Wollay, in 1567, and was clothed (admitted to the livery) in 1574. He is documented as a witness to the will of John Dixon of St. Gregory parish in 1563.
