SWAIN (ROBERT), senior, bookseller in London, 1621-32; The Bible, Britain's Burse. Took up his freedom in the Company of Stationers, September 1st, 1617 [Arber, iii. 684], and made his first entry in the Registers on September 18th, 1621, and his last on December 20th, 1629 [Arber, iv. 59, 224]. Robert Swain died before February 6th, 1631/2, when Martha Swain { SWAIN, Martha ‹ LBT 30760 › }, presumably his widow, made over one of her copyrights to Richard Royston { ROYSTON, Richard ( - 1686) ‹ LBT 10120 › } [Arber, iv. 271].
