Duff, E.G. (1905), p.151

SPILMAN (SIMON), bookbinder in London, was an original member of the Stationers' Company. He is mentioned by Foxe [viii, p. 724] as having been brought before Bonner for binding a Bible and service book for W. Gie. He was sent to the Tower, but escaped. He is mentioned several times in the Stationers' Company's Registers as taking apprentices, the last entry of his name being under the year 1569.
