In the Returns of Aliens in 1583 occurs this entry:- Groyter, Amell de, Criplegate Without, Dutchman, letter maker for printers [Kirk's Returns of A!iens, Part ii. 317). An Aimé de Gruyter made some founts for Christopher Plantin in 1589 [M. Rooses, Christophe Plantin, p. 239; Worman, Alien Members, p. 26].
