== Introduction ==
<div style="width:90ch;">
William Freeman was a member of the Stationers' Company in London during the late sixteenth century. He was bound as an apprentice to Thomas Gardener in February 1577 and turned over to Thomas Dawson in September 1579, completing his training in the book trade. Freeman's membership in the Stationers' Company indicates he achieved the freedom of the company and participated in the London printing or bookselling trade.
