William Parnell was a bookbinder and member of the Stationers' Company in London. Bound to Emanuel Exhole in 1594, he was freed by servitude in 1601 and subsequently took on four apprentices in the binding trade between 1607 and 1616, establishing himself as an experienced craftsman in the London book trade.
