Introduction
Thomas Devell was a stationer and member of the Stationers' Company in London. He was made free of the Stationers' Company on 18 January 1541 and was among the original members of the Company at its incorporation in 1557. He was documented as living in St Paul's Churchyard in 1549.

DEVELL (THOMAS), stationer in London, was living in 1549 in St. Paul's Churchyard, in which year a foreigner who lived with him, Dr Adrian, paid taxes. (R. of A., I, 59.] He was an original member of the Stationers' Company, but is not mentioned after the year of incorporation in the Registers. It appears from the Records in the Guildhall (Rep., 10., f. 189] that he was made free of the Company of Stationers January 18th, 1541.
