BROWNE (JOSEPH), bookseller in London, 1611-21. Son of Gregory Browne, citizen and goldsmith of London. Apprentice to George Bishop { BISHOP, George ( - 1610) ‹ LBT 08608 › } for nine years from March 5th, 1604 [Arber, ii. 275]. Made free of the Company, April 1st, 1611, and made his first entry in the Registers on December 6th, 1611, and his last on May 18th, 1621 [Arber, iii. 472, 683]. His address has not been found.
