WYER (RICHARD), printer in London, issued in 1548 The Reke1nynge and declaration of the faytl. of Huldrike Zwyngly and in 1550 the Debate betwene the heraldes of Englande and Fraunce. A work by Bale mentioned by Ames under the same year seems doubtful. He printed one work without date A christen sentence and true judgement of the sacrament [Caius Call., Camb.] which has been wrongly entered by Herbert [I, 376] under Robert Wyer { WYER, Robert ‹ LBT 02899 › }. His shop was in St. Paul's Churchyard. In the Archives of the City of London he is twice mentioned once as "stationer" and once as "boke prynter." On one occasion he was bound over to keep the peace as regards Guylam Peltere, a Frenchman; on the other he deposed that he was drinking in a tavern called the Three Cups, and was witness to a quarrel between the landlord and a "costard monger" over a game of dice.
