John Collins was a bookbinder and member of the Stationers' Company in London. He was freed from his servitude on 5 April 1605 and subsequently took on at least seven apprentices in the binding trade between 1605 and 1611, establishing himself as an active master craftsman in the London book trade during the early seventeenth century.
