Introduction
John Kele was a stationer and member of the Stationers' Company in London. He was the younger brother of Richard Kele and had been freed as a member of the Company before its charter was granted in 1557. Kele took on apprentices in the book trade, with documented apprenticeships in binding extending to 1571.

KELE (JOHN), stationer in London, was a younger brother of Richard Kele { KELE, Richard ( - 1552) ‹ LBT 28231 › } and still an apprentice in 1552. He had been freed before the passing of the Stationers' Company's charter and is entered in the list. He is mentioned in the Registers as taking apprentices up to the year 1571.
