Introduction
Allen Gamlyn (also known as Gammon) was a stationer in London and an original member of the Stationers' Company, which received its charter in 1557. He was active in the book trade during the mid-sixteenth century and took on apprentices in the binding trade. His son Vincent Gammon was admitted a freeman of the Stationers' Company by patrimony in 1582.
