<div style="width:90ch;">
John Standish was an English bookseller and stationer active in London during the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. Apprenticed to William Cooke in 1576, he gained his freedom in 1587 and was admitted to the Livery of the Stationers' Company in 1598. Standish published notable works including Sir John Davies' Nosce Teipsum (1599) and the Hymns of Astrea, and served as Under Warden of the Stationers' Company in 1607 and 1609. He was buried at St Dunstan in the West in February 1613.
